FAQ’s

Q. What is MDAT

A. MDAT stands for minimum drive away time. This is the minimum wait time to ensure the vehicle is road ready. It starts from the time the adhesive is applied. These times vary depending on the adhesive used.

Q. How long does it take to replace my glass?

A. All vehicle manufactures design their vehicles differently. On average it takes about an hour to an hour and a half for the replacement. Expect it to be about 2 hours with the MDAT (minimum drive away time) included.

Q. Are there any special instructions or requirements for my replaced glass?

A. Yes, first make sure you wait out the MDAT. Second, refrain from getting a car wash for a minimum of 24 hours. The high pressure could cause issues to the adhesive.

Q. It’s supposed to rain will this cause any issues?

A. Rain will not be a problem. Any precipitation that occurs once the glass has been installed will not cause any issues.

Q. How long does it take to repair my windshield?

A. Since every chip is different in nature, some may fill much quicker than others. On average it can take approximately 30 minutes from start to finish.

Q. The chip didn’t disappear?

A. We try our best to minimize the visual appearance of the damage made to the windshield. Expect that the damage will still be visible. The purpose of a repair is to keep the damage from spreading and to bring back the the structural integrity of the glass. It is never meant to make the damage go away. It is a structural fix and not a cosmetic fix.

Q. Is Aftermarket Glass as good as OEM?

A. Aftermarket glass is just as good as OEM. All auto glass has to be made to specific standards. So the real difference is that the aftermarket glass will not have a vehicle manufactures logo on it.
